Synopsis - Inspector Bhuvan Sen was posted to the village of Dhaniakhali, and he soon discovered the decadence which was enveloping the place and its people. He was particularly interested in Madhusudan Roy Choudhury -- drunkard, debauch, inhuman; a man who had adopted the image of a beast. It was difficult for Bhuvan Sen to believe that Madhusudan hailed from a respectable Zamindar family.Madhusudan loved Lekha a lot however he lost Lekha. He fell deeper and deeper into the quagmire from which there was no escape.Manik Babu, suave, sophisticated, was now the undisputed leader of the village; a dangerous man whose mild outward manner shielded the evil in his heart.Bhuvan Sen was determined to restore Madhusudan to the position that he had once enjoyed. As a beginning, he persuaded Madhusudan to accept employment in the building of the barrage, an undertaking vital to the village. This marked the beginning of the struggle for the restoration of Madhusudhan to human values. But even with Bhuvan Sen's helping hand, could Madhusudhan shake himself free from the fetters with which he had bound himself?
